Lakeside Pres Nursery School has been amazing for my daughter, who attended multiple years. The teachers always have fresh new ideas for setting up the classrooms, and there is a great balance between structured activities, outdoor play, and free time for cooperative and creative play. The teachers have endless patience and you can tell they care deeply about the children and have a passion for teaching early childhood. I attended the school myself as a child, and I feel so fortunate that my daughter is able to be part of the LPNS community now. I can't imagine a better pre-k experience! -Laura L.
As an occupational therapist, it is important to me that my children are in a program that is developmentally appropriate. Play-based preschool is shown again and again in research to be the best for young kids. LPNS shines in this arena: the large, bright spaces set up for gross motor, dramatic play, art, and fine motor activities, along with regular outdoor play are exactly what I was looking for in a preschool. The caring, experienced teachers have made my children feel so comfortable, and they've helped instill in my children a love of school. I highly recommend LPNS to everyone!! -Adrianne O.
LPNS is everything we want in a preschool for our children. The teachers have created a warm, welcoming environment where even the most reserved child is able to grow and gain confidence through play. The curriculum is truly play-based. This school has been doing for 50 years what research is now showing to be of critical importance for early childhood learning and development. The teachers rotate the toys and activities every couple of weeks to allow for new exploration and play. The three large, bright classrooms are set up to encourage play in all areas of development, including large motor, fine motor, creative/imaginative play, pre-literacy, and pre-math skills. Furthermore, there is always an art project set up for those kids that love art...messy kinds of things that you may not want to tackle at home. Our daughter has loved her year at LPNS, and it has been fun for us as parents to watch her grow and learn. She will be moving on to kindergarten next year, and our son will be starting at LPNS in the fall. It has been a great experience for our whole family. - Allison and Greg S.
